Turning the World Green One Project at a Time
What is Hydroseeding?
Hydroseeding is a planting process that utilizes a slurry of seed, water, fertilizer, mulch and tackifier. Depending on the project, the varieties of seed used for this process can include grass or lawn seed, wildflowers, pasture seed, seed for athletic fields and seed for erosion control. Water in the mix acts as a carrier and the contact of the seed and the water activate the growth process. Fertilizer is included to stimulate root growth. Mulch, which gives hyrdroseeding its green color, helps protect the seed and seals in moisture. Tackifiers help hold the material on hillsides while helping seal moisture in the soil and lubricate the machine.
Hydroseeding can be applied in a variety of residential and commercial improvement projects large or small. Project applications include, but are not limited to, areas with hilly terrain and embankments. It is utilized for erosion control and is ideal for residential lawns, golf courses, cemeteries, pastures, schools and parks and all areas disturbed by construction.
